On May 10th, Feudi di San Gregorio changed its legal status into a Benefit Company with the ultimate aim of safeguarding and promoting the natural environment, and the social and cultural heritage of the Irpinian territory and its community.

Benefit Companies, a legal status introduced in Italy in 2016, are for-profit corporate entities that aim to balance out their profit-making purposes with objective(s) of common benefit.

Obtaining Equalitas certification– a wide-ranging recognition in terms of Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability – was a fundamental step along this pathway”, said company president, Antonio Capaldo. “It confirms a commitment taken many years ago and that continues today to foster sustainable action for environmental, social and economic issues: a commitment that numerous projects developed in recent years bear witness to. Initiatives from the implementation of increasingly lower-impact cultivation techniques (developed in partnership with national and international research centres), and the adoption of increasingly sustainable packaging components, to the use of renewables and involvement in social impact projects, like our participation as a founding member in the San Gennaro Foundation.
